From conception until now!

Hello everyone! I've decided to start a blog site so we can keep all of you updated on our family. So, this first posting is going to be my life in a "NUT SHELL" for the past eight months. Okay, to start with Rick and I decided to seek the help of a fertility specialist to take a look at my fertility problems. He said that due to my polycystic ovaries and scar tissue from a ruptured appendix I would need help getting pregnant. We decided to try a medication called "Famora" which helps stimulate the ovaries. The doctor said the chance of multiples was very slim. He went on to say that he has not had a multiple birth on this medication. Anyway, I started taking the medicine. I took it for three months and then had a positive pregnancy test. I notified the doctor and he said to come in for an ultrasound. We were so excited! Rick felt like the Lord revealed to him that we would be blessed with twins. I just laughed and said okay. While we were waiting on the doctor, I remember Rick asking me if I was nervous. I said, a little bit. I'm not sure about the whole twin thing. Rick said, "Oh come on, its not like its FOUR!" Yes, this is true he really said that. In came the doctor and then he performed the ultrasound. FOUR BABIES! He was shocked. We were SHOCKED. I couldn't believe it! We didn't know what to think. The doctor immediately discussed "Selective Termination" We were still in shock but knew that was NOT an option for us. We followed up with him for another appointment and he once again encouraged us to terminate at least two maybe three babies. We said we were keeping all of these precious gifts and that was the last time we spoke with him. A few weeks later we had an appointment with Dr. John Stanley in OKC at Mercy. He is an high risk physician and he is absolutely wonderful. We have been so lucky to have found such a great doctor. We had another ultrasound and actually got to hear the heartbeats for the first time. It was truely AMAZING. We were still in shock and could hardly believe that there were FOUR BABIES, but we were convinced that the Lord wouldn't have given us these babies if HE didn't think we could handle it. I'll scan in those first ultrasound pictures so you guys can enjoy them and be amazed just like we were!
